Multiple Activites at Stanton Lake Highlight Earth Day in Falls City

FALLS CITY – There will be plenty to do for Falls City residents on Earth Day.

A fun run will begin the festivities on Saturday, April 22nd, at Stanton Lake, sponsored by the Community Medical Center.

Participants will have a chance to run a one mile or 5K race. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. with the one mile taking place 15 minutes later.

It is $10 to enter into the race, and all runners will be given a complimentary tote bag.

That’s not at all that is happening at the lake on Earth Day.

Following the run, a representative from Kleinfelter farm in Hiland, Kan. will be present to chat about the fragile state of bees.

A 5th degree blackbelt from Hiawatha will also be teaching a self-defense class at the lake.

Kids and adults of all ages are invited to all activities.
