Motorcycles crash in southwest Iowa; 2 men seriously injured

Two men have been seriously injured after their motorcycles crashed in southwest Iowa.

The crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday near 221st Street and Barrus Road east of Mineola in Mills County, the Iowa State Patrol said.

The motorcyclists, Corey Livingston, 30, of Omaha, and Matthew Ollie, 40, of Council Bluffs, were southbound on 221st Street near the intersection with Barrus Road at the time of the crash.

A third motorcyclist traveling with the other bikers slowed and turned left onto Barrus Road.

Livingston and Ollie passed the intersection, with Ollie then slowing to turn around.

Livingston struck the rear of Ollie’s motorcycle, the patrol said, sending both Honda motorcycles off the roadway into the west ditch.

Livingston was taken by medical helicopter to Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy in Omaha. Ollie was taken by rescue squad to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
