BEATRICE – A Missouri man escaped serious injury when his semi-trailer truck crashed, in southwest Gage County.

Sheriff’s investigators say 27-year-old Bryan Avery, of Grandview, Missouri was driving east when his semi-trailer load shifted as he went through curves on Nebraska Highway 8.

The truck ran off the highway into the south ditch, where it tipped onto its side.  The truck’s load of scrap iron spilled into the ditch.

Authorities say Avery suffered minor cuts, but refused transport for medical care.  He was wearing a seatbelt. Gage County deputies were assisted at the scene of an Odell Quick Response Team, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Nebraska Roads Department.

The accident happened at about 8:30 Monday morning, about three-quarters-of-a-mile east of Odell…near the highway intersection with Southwest 45th Road.
