Minor Injuries When Car Rolls Over, into Soybean Field

BEATRICE – A female driver was transported for medical treatment after her car went off U.S. Highway 77 south of Beatrice and rolled, apparently while avoiding a semitrailer truck that had turned onto the highway in front of her.

The accident happened just before eleven Wednesday morning, at the junction of U.S. 77 and Nebraska Highway 112, about seven miles south of Beatrice.

Gage County Sheriff’s Deputy John Chavez says the woman injured was conscious and alert….in fact standing near her vehicle when law officers and rescue personnel reached the scene.  She suffered a head laceration, but no life-threatening injuries.

Her vehicle was southbound on a curve of U.S. Highway 77, when the semitrailer truck turned from 112 onto 77, to travel north.  The driver of the truck did not stop at the scene.

Chavez says the female injured was wearing a seatbelt.  Rescue and Fire personnel from Wymore, Blue Springs and Beatrice responded to the scene.

The accident slowed traffic for a short time.
