Meridian’s First Reindeer Run A Success

DAYKIN –  You couldn’t have asked for better weather for the first annual Meridian Mini Mustangs Student Council Reindeer Run.   87 runners in total participated in the event as a fundraiser for the Mini Mustangs Student Council.  The group is made up of kids in 4th through 6th grade that represent the elementary student body.   The students provide events to the elementary and are positive role models to the younger grades.   Echoe Davis, 4th grade teacher at Meridian Schools says that the kids came up with the idea for the fundraiser.

“The kids wanted to put on a 1 mile and 5 K fun run, so we went with the idea and ran with it. SO far we have about 90 people signed up for pre registration.  Since it’s the first annual we are hoping to do this every year to bring more activities for the elementary through sixth grade.”

After the event, Davis said that the Meridian Mini Mustangs Student Council are looking forward to do it again next year.
