Marshall County Commissioners take action following last week’s KBI investigation

MARYSVILLE, KS – The Marshall County Commissioners meeting Monday went into executive session three times to discuss county security measures.

This came after a motion was unanimously approved to remove County Clerk Sonya Stohs’ name from any county credit cards, and replace her name with Deputy Clerk Sandy Wilson, who served the meeting-taking minutes.

The actions come after Kansas Bureau of Investigation officers converged on the courthouse last Thursday with a search warrant, closing the clerk’s office, advising that they were investigating a potential criminal case involving a clerk’s office employee.

That employee has not been identified by officials, and county commissioners at the time were unaware of any wrong doing.

The KBI has not replied to any requests for additional information, indicating that nothing more would be available until such investigations are complete.
