COLUMBUS – Columbus police say a man wanted on three warrants out of two counties was arrested after an anonymous caller spotted him driving through town.
Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says dispatchers received a call from an anonymous caller at 1:33 p.m. on Saturday, who spotted 27-year-old Cesar Garcia driving on 33rd Avenue in Columbus. Police then arrested Garcia at 15th Street and 32nd Avenue.
Garcia was wanted on two warrants out of Platte County for burglary, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as a warrant out of Colfax County for possession of a controlled substance.
Court records say Garcia and 27-year-old Zachary Cronk, both of Columbus, were wanted for felony burglary and misdemeanor theft between $500-$1,500. Court records say a home owner has surveillance video of Cronk and Garcia allegedly breaking into their home on the 900 block of 21st Avenue and leaving with several items on October 15th at around 1:57 a.m.
Among the items reported stolen were a Playstation 3, Playstation 4, a controller, a charging station, several games, multiple full bottles of alcohol, and $200 cash.
Garcia was taken to the Platte County Detention Center.
