PALMER – A man is facing four felony charges after a deputy arrested him for manufacturing and smoking meth near a playground.
An affidavit says a deputy reported pulling up to a home in Palmer, in an attempt to serve an arrest warrant for Rima Maroney, 46, on the 600 block of Stanwick Street. The deputy states that when he arrived he found Paul Hansen Jr., 37, and James Nordlund, 48, sitting on the floor around a smoking device.
An investigation followed, and the deputy states they found approximately 35 smoking devices in the home, several with meth residue, a 12 gauge shotgun, methamphetamine, and THC edibles. The deputy also says they found a set up in one of the areas of the house, where Hansen had appeared to be manufacturing methamphetamine.
Hansen admitted to smoking meth with Nordlund, according to the affidavit.
The deputy says Hansen lives just over 500 feet away from a playground in Palmer, where he was manufacturing and smoking the methamphetamine.
Hansen is charged with four felonies; producing meth near a playground, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, and two charges for possession of a controlled substance.
