Main Street Beatrice Receives Alcohol Permit for Ribfest Fundraiser

BEATRICE – Main Street Beatrice has received city approval for a special liquor permit, in association with this summer’s annual Ribfest event, during Homestead Days.

A beer garden will be set up in the parking lot at 120 North 6th Street, with the event hours from three p.m. until midnight, June 23rd.  The permit allows Main Street to use a portion of city property along the sidewalk and parking lot, for the fundraiser.

Council members also approved a permit allowing the serving of alcohol at the Carnegie Building during a Beatrice High School Class of 1958 reunion, Saturday, June 9th…from eleven a.m. until four p.m.

The Main Street permit was approved on a 7-1 vote.  Councilman Dwight Parde voted no.  The Class of 1958 permit was approved on a 6-2 vote, with Parde and Councilman Rich Kerr voting no.
