Main Street Beatrice Chapter Wins Awards

BEATRICE – The Main Street Beatrice program has been recognized with several honors in this year’s Nebraska Main Street Network.

Persons and projects winning 2018 awards were recognized Tuesday night, at an event held at Tall Tree Tastings in downtown Beatrice.

The local chapter won an honor for best Fundraiser, for the Magic of Main Street event.   The Fourth and Ella Street parking lot beautification project won an award for Streetscape Project.

Joe Armstrong and Dale Simmons won Volunteer of the Year honors, and Tall Tree Tastings logged Business of the Year Honors.

The Main Street Beatrice program was recognized for registering a total of 1,655 volunteer hours and for on-time reinvestment reporting.

A five-year Service Award was earned by Main Street Beatrice Executive Director, Michael Sothan.

Main Street accreditation was given the past year to several Nebraska chapters, including those in Beatrice, Falls City, Wayne, Plattsmouth, Fremont and Grand Island.
