BEATRICE – Gage County deputies are trying to solve a case of damage done to several mailboxes in a rural area, west of Beatrice.
Investigators say at least 15 owners reported their mailboxes were damaged by someone striking them with an unknown object. Law officers are estimating at least $1,000 in total damage has been done.
Authorities say they have received witness reports of a suspect vehicle leaving the scene. Evidence was collected at the scene of some of the damage and officers continue to investigate the vandalism. Officers say the damage was done Monday, sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
