Madison Woman Found Safe After Wandering Into Storm

MADISON – An elderly Madison woman is home safe after authorities say she wandered out into Tuesday morning’s storm.

Madison Police Chief Rod Waterbury says a Madison officer was flagged down by a woman just after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday, saying that her 85-year old mother, Rebecca Marquez, had walked away from her home about an hour earlier. Marquez suffers from Alzeimer’s Disease.

Officials searched in the pouring rain for almost an hour, before finding Marquez unharmed at Madison Elementary School, about four blocks from her home.

She was transported to Faith Regional Health Services after being checked by Madison Rescue.
