LINN, KS – This local man believes in helping his neighbor. Linn resident, David Black, thinks if we all helped each other more today, maybe the world would be a better place tomorrow.
Black tells News Channel Nebraska, “If we can all get together, and do things together for our communities and cities that we live in, this country would be awesome. Totally awesome.”
Black collects donation items throughout his community for Goodwill. Used clothing and kitchenware seems to be the essentials most needed. He then hauls them to Goodwill on his own time and gas. Black charges a one-time-fee of $50 for larger loads that community members can write off on their taxes.
“A lot of good clothing, a lot of shoes, a lot of dresses, shirts and pants of all kinds. Things that people don’t want. We get a lot of – a few antique things like candle lighters and holders.”
Black hopes to eventually get to more donations across northern Kansas, “We are right out of Washington County, Kansas. We are trying to expand our progress.” If you have any donations in the local area for Black to collect, please call him at (785) 632 – 0769.
Black concluded with, “Like I said before, we are just here for a short time. Lets help our friends, family and neighbors out as much as possible. Meantime, we will be rewarded sometime, someplace and somehow.”
