FAIRBURY – Faith Lutheran Church Member Amber Arner says, “Fairbury needs a playground on the north side of town. They have a small, little lot that has some old equipment on it but it’s nothing for kids to play on.”
Now the church is looking to help make that playground possible so that children who live in the north part of town, aren’t crossing a busy highway to get to the playground located on the south side of Fairbury.
“We have decided to allocate some funds to build a playground, and now we are asking the community’s help because we want to make it a community project. It’s not just for our children at our church, it’s also for the whole town.”
Pancakes for a Playground will be held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 23 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
This is the community’s chance to help make this new playground possible. Silent auction and raffle items will be on display, including a homemade Dr. Seuss quilt.
