Liberty Man Arrested For Alleged Sex Offender Violation

BEATRICE – A Liberty, Nebraska man has been arrested for allegedly violating provisions of Nebraska’s Sex Offender Registry Act.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office says it was discovered that Timothy Erks had quit his job in Filley, but allegedly failed to notify the sheriff’s office of a change in employment.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant.  The sheriff’s office worked with the Nebraska State Patrol, and a trooper arrested Erks.

Gage County Sheriff’s officers say at any given time, there are around 60 convicted sex offenders registered and residing in Gage County.
