Law Officers Respond to East Beatrice, Make Warrant Arrest

BEATRICE – Three law enforcement agencies were involved in the arrest of a man in Beatrice late Friday afternoon.

20-year-old Trevor Watson, who was residing in Beatrice, was arrested on an active warrant from Jefferson County.   Beatrice Police Captain Gerald Lamkin says a police officer who knew of the warrant tried to locate Watson late Friday afternoon.  Lamkin says Officer Dan Moss was speaking with some people at an apartment complex at 1800 Scott Street attempting to find Watson.

When the officer got out of his patrol unit to make the arrest, Watson fled on foot.  Police located him near the Earl May Store in east Beatrice.

Lamkin arrived to assist the officer, and three Nebraska State Troopers and Gage County Sheriff’s deputies in the area also responded to the scene. Watson was not armed when he was apprehended.

He was arrested for the warrant from Jefferson County, which accuses him of several counts of property damage.

Other charges are possible related to Watson’s flight from police.   He was arrested at around five p.m., Friday.
