Two Beatrice Fire and Rescue ambulances, a fire truck, several Beatrice Police and Gage County Sheriff’s vehicles blocked off Sherman Street, between West Court and Mary Streets.  Henning said authorities early last night were investigating what caused the two men to become unresponsive.  Shortly after the incident, police were questioning them, next to a patrol car across the street from the trailer home.

Beatrice Fire Chief Brian Daake says department personnel were sent partly to make sure no one else was in the home.

Henning says at least one of the men resided at the trailer home. Sergeant Jay Murphy said police determined the matter to be a drug-related issue, after speaking with the men and other witnesses.  Police then obtained a search warrant for a home in the 1200 block of Ella Street.
