BEATRICE – Beatrice Radio Station KWBE has been awarded three second-place honors in this year’s Associated Press Great Plains Broadcast competition.
One of the awards was in the Spot News category for coverage of last fall’s total eclipse activities, including the huge crowd that attended the celestial event at the Homestead National Monument of America.
KWBE also won a second-place award for Enterprise Reporting, for a story on human trafficking.
The Beatrice radio station also picked up a second-place honor in the Continuing Story category, for a feature on the Ponca Tribe’s journey across Nebraska, retracing their ancestors trek after being banished from Nebraska to Oklahoma.
The Associated Press Great Plains Contest covering the 2017 year, included radio and television station award winners from Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.
