SCHUYLER – The Knights of Columbus Car Show lined the streets of downtown Schuyler on Sunday as a part of the Spring Festival.
Residents from around the area hit downtown to check out classic and modern cars.
Lumir Jedlicka says they’ve seen some new styles of entries this year, and says the comments from the public have been very positive.
“For years we’ve been doing the festival, and so this car show blended in with it. We’ve just had comments about the people who are coming to the show, enjoy how we put it together and how well organized it is, and the good judging,” says Jedlicka.
Dean Vavricek says they are seeing some interest from younger area residents in the competition, but says they hope that’s an area where the can continue to grow. Vavricek also says the numbers were a little lower this year, but says it was something they were expecting, with temperatures forecast in the 100s.
“It is a bit lower this year. I think we’re at 115 or so, and our high has been 187, and we always fall somewhere in between there. We’re happy with the turnout, and the weather hasn’t been too terribly hot,” says Vavricek.
The Car Show ran until 5 p.m. Sunday, and both Jedlicka and Vavricek says they are excited to continue the show in years to come.
