PLYMOUTH, NE – Jefferson Community Health & Life announced a new clinic in Plymouth last July.
As of Thursday, it’s open for business.
“The main thing is providing access to the people of Jefferson County,” JCH&L CEO Chad Jurgens said. “We think that if we can go closer to where the people live, we’re more likely to get them to come in and see us for their health care needs as opposed to waiting for something that gets a little more serious and having to go to the ER.”
The clinic will be open 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
When the Plymouth Clinic is not open, calls will be answered by the JCH&L Fairbury Clinic.
The Plymouth location offers a wide range of services, including physical exams and preventative care, treatment of acute and chronic illness, minor surgeries and procedures, laboratory services and radiology services.
The new clinic is one of six businesses located in the Plymouth Plaza just off Highway 4. Dustin Gronemeyer co-owns the Plaza, and co-runs Ptown Fitness, Daily Grind Coffee and Smoothies and Ptown’s Live Love Dance Studio next door.
Gronemeyer co-runs these with his wife, Elise, along with Anthony and Robin Drewes. He believes the clinic will fit right in with these already open businesses.
“When we put this building up, we figured all of these businesses would help each other traffic-wise,” Gronemeyer said. “Having the fitness center focused on health, it’s a great partnership with (Jefferson Community Health & Life) to just make the community healthier and give them an option to maintain their health and so forth.”
A ceremonial ribbon cutting is planned for either late September or early October.
