BEATRICE – A Gage County jail term was ordered Monday for a man convicted of third-degree assault and disturbing the peace.
District Judge Julie Smith said information provided for sentencing indicated violence in the most recent crimes committed by Jeremiah Tart.

The victim also reported being kicked in the back. Judge Smith says there were several past similar convictions that ruled out granting probation.

Tart was sentenced to one year in the Gage County Jail, with 162 days credit off the term for time already spent in custody. He was given a consecutive 30-day jail term on the criminal mischief count. Court costs of $150 were ordered to be paid.
