Investigating Vehicle Report, Beatrice Police Make Drug Arrest

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police made an arrest over the weekend for drug violations, after checking out what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle.

Lieutenant Jay Murphy says police were notified at about 12:20 Sunday morning, about a vehicle that appeared to be abandoned and parked illegally, in the Seventh and Elk area.

Police observed an unoccupied vehicle and saw what appeared to be a methamphetamine pipe in plain view, inside the vehicle.  Police later observed two men approach the vehicle with a gas can, put fuel in the vehicle…then leave the scene.

Police stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who gave consent to search the vehicle.
