Hoping For Break in the Wet Pattern, Big Blue River Levels Stabilizing

BEATRICE – National Weather Service readings indicate the Big Blue River was leveling off somewhat, overnight.  The river stage in Beatrice was at about 18-point-five feet at five a.m., today…slightly above flood stage.

A crest of about 19 feet is expected, before the Big Blue begins falling starting Thursday morning.

The Big Blue River at Barneston was at around 22 feet this morning, about two feet above flood stage.  A crest of just over 23 feet is expected later this morning, with a gradual drop for the remainder of the week.

The Big Blue River at Marysville, Kansas had risen to almost 31 feet this morning, but still below flood stage of 35.

At Wilber this morning, the Big Blue River was at 13-point-six feet….about a foot above flood stage.
