Hebron’s Blue Valley Lutheran Homes celebrating 70 years this weekend

HEBRON, NE – Blue Valley Lutheran Homes in Hebron is celebrating its 70th anniversary this weekend.

On Sunday, the nursing home will offer tours and refreshments from 2-4 p.m.

Blue Valley is one of the largest employers in Thayer County, with nearly 170 staff members.

Marketing and development director Megan Hinrichs says Blue Valley Lutheran provides incomparable service to its residents in the area.

“With the services we provide, we’re really able to specialize and meet the needs of lots of different residents,” Hinrichs said. “Between our four different building types, we’re really able to take care of their needs.”

Sunday’s celebration, Hinrichs says, will provide an opportunity for visitors to interact with the facility’s residents and employees.

“Being able to celebrate with our staff members is also important,” Hinrichs said. “We can celebrate their successes over the last 70 years.”

Blue Valley Lutheran has four nursing care homes, offering nursing care for the elderly, mentally disabled and those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.

They also offer assisted living, long-term care, respite care and rehab services. Blue Valley holds close partnerships with the nearby Thayer County Health Services and Infinity Rehab, which is based out of Hastings.

“That’s great for us, because we have residents that are able to get their therapy time each and every day of the week,” Hinrichs said.
