The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a 

* Flood Warning for…

  Jefferson County in southeastern Nebraska… 

* Until 830 AM CDT.

* At 234 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain had fallen and  was causing flooding. Total rainfall amounts near the county line  northwest of Reynolds were likely near 7 inches. Emergency  management earlier reported some flooding with water over roads  around Reynolds. Scattered rain showers will continue through the  morning hours adding an additional inch or two to the area. * Some locations that will experience flooding include…

Fairbury, Diller, Endicott, Jansen, Reynolds, Steele City, Harbine,  Alexandria State Recreation Area, Rock Creek Station State  Historical Park, Cub Creek Recreational Area, Crystal Springs  Campground, Buckley Creek Recreational Area and Camp Jefferson.


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Due to the rain that is already
fallen and additional rain expected through tonight, the locally
heavy rain may lead to flash flooding.

Including the cities of Glenwood, Red Oak, Sidney, Hamburg,
Tabor, Farragut, Fremont, Blair, Wahoo, Ashland, Yutan, Omaha,
Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Seward, Milford, Lincoln,
Plattsmouth, Nebraska City, Crete, Wilber, Fairbury, and Beatrice
