Hazmat Crews Respond to Acid Leak at Local Gas Station

COLUMBUS – Columbus Hazmat crews were alerted to contain an acid leak at a local gas station.

A responder on scene says the acid leak came from a truck that was parked on the south side of the parking lot on the 4800 block of Howard Boulevard/Highway 81.  Hazmat crews were alerted at roughly 12:34 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, and the initial call for the spill came in at approximately 12:32 p.m.

The hazmat crews remained on the scene for several hours in order to contain the spill, until the EPA can respond and clean it up.
