Ground Broken on New Educational Facility in West Point

WEST POINT – Northeast community college and the city of West Point broke ground Monday on the site that will house the new Donald E. Nielsen Career and Technical training facility.

It is a facility that that will offer high school and college students courses that differ from core curriculum like math and science, and focus more on a variety of trades such as farming and engineering.

West Point Mayor Marlene Johnson feels that being able to have access to this type of a resource will help high school students decide if they want to join the work force or pursue a college degree.
