Gage County to Update Comprehensive Plan, Zoning

BEATRICE – Gage County is hiring a consulting firm to update the county’s comprehensive plan, and zoning regulations.

The Board of Supervisors Wednesday approved hiring Hanna:Keelan Associates, at a cost of $14,000.   The firm last did an update of the county’s plan in 2010.

Community and Regional Planner Lonnie Dickson worked with the county on its’ initial comprehensive plan.  County Board chairman Myron Dorn says recent conflicts dealing with competing land use in the county has prompted officials to update the plan.   Dickson says that’s not uncommon for any county.
