BEATRICE – Gage County officials signed off Wednesday on a bridge project that is the last of its’ kind, under an old federal aid program.
Supervisors signed final acceptance with the Nebraska Department of Transportation on the project called Adams Northwest, in section twelve of Nemaha Township.

Gage County Board Chairman Myron Dorn, of Adams described the project that survived design changes causing additional engineering expense for the county.
Changes in how federal transportation funding is distributed to the states, ended the federal aid program that also financed significant bridge work near Barneston, in Wymore and near Filley.
The county board voted 6-0 Wednesday, approving a resolution accepting completion of the project and county maintenance of it.
