Gage County Officers Looking For Driver of Stolen Tow Truck

BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s officers are looking for the driver of a stolen tow truck, involved in a pursuit, Saturday afternoon.

Deputies were sent to the area of Southwest 32nd and Locust Road two miles south of Beatrice, at about mid-afternoon, Saturday.  A tow truck had been reported to be driving through a field.  Authorities located the truck near Southwest 32nd and Maple Road, attempted to stop the driver, then were involved in a short pursuit.

The tow truck driver took several minimum maintenance roads, left the roadway and entered a corn field.  Deputies then cut off the pursuit.

Officers then learned that the truck had been stolen in a burglary of a building on the Gage County Fairgrounds.  Sheriff’s deputies recovered the unoccupied truck.
