BEATRICE – Current Gage County Board Chairman Myron Dorn has officially filed to run for the 30th District State Legislative seat.
The Adams and Firth area farmer is seeking the position now held by Dr. Roy Baker. Last year, Baker announced that he would not seek a second term in the legislature.
Dorn says his county board experience will be a valuable asset, and he says property tax relief must be a priority. He also cites as important issues, economic development, education and infrastructure.
Dorn said in his campaign statement, “I believe that you should treat people with respect, and you should treat people the way you want to be treated”.
Dorn graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is a member of several agriculture organizations and has been a 30-year member of the Adams Rescue Squad.
Dorn and his wife Julie have a family farming operation and reside on an acreage just outside of Adams.
Don Schuller of rural Wymore and Joe Murray of Lincoln, are also candidates for the 30th District Legislative seat.
