Gage County Assessor Seriously Injured in Kansas Accident

BEATRICE – Gage County Assessor Patti Milligan, of Wymore was seriously injured and hospitalized, after a vehicle accident in Kansas.   Deputy County Assessor Annette Corter told county supervisors today that Milligan was able to escape her vehicle, which reportedly caught fire.

Corter said the 57-year-old Milligan suffered facial and rib injuries in the accident, but “was very lucky”.

Marshall County, Kansas Sheriff’s officers say Milligan’s 2000 Chrysler 300 was eastbound on Kansas Highway 233, missed a turn and went east onto Cherokee Road, where she lost control on gravel and struck a tree in the north ditch.  The accident happened Monday morning, at about 8:49, just south of Oketo, Kansas.

Earlier this year, Gage County Emergency Management Coordinator Tim Stutzman was hospitalized, following a motorcycle accident in Beatrice.  He has not yet returned to work.
