NORFOLK – A party for adults will be benefiting kids in northeast Nebraska.
The annual Faith Regional Health Services Gala will be held April 14th. Hospital officials say the event serves as their biggest fundraiser each year. This year, the money raised from the Gala will go toward the purchase of new labor tubs, infant warmers and crib side bassinets, which hospital officials say will allow new mothers to keep their babies crib side.
“That will allow people to have their baby close to them but not in bed with them,” said FRHS Foundation Director Jake Claussen. “It’s part of our Back to Sleep program, where we want to encourage that close contact between mother and baby without necessarily having them co-sleeping.”
This year’s gala will be following a masquerade theme, with attendees donning masks in addition to their normal Gala attire.
“I think that allows people to dress up in any manner they wish – as formal or non-formal as they want,” Claussen said.
The annual Gala will be held at the Divots Devent Center in Norfolk.
