BEATRICE – Many families throughout Beatrice read their way through the eight free little library locations throughout the day on Sunday.
After visiting all the locations and collecting a stamp on their passport, participants were entered into a drawing for prizes.
Leadership Beatrice developed the idea and has seen the public take a strong interest in it.
“It’s jut really taken hold. We wanted to do something that would help the community in literacy, and reading is something we think could really leave a mark and grow and help kids, adults and everyone. The interest that we’ve gotten is exciting, so we really think it’s going to take hold,” said class member Walker Zulkoski.
This was a very passionate project done by Leadership Beatrice, so much so that a few decided to dress up as book characters.
“Well, when we decided the class project, I wanted to be different book characters, but Walker and I were the only ones that kind of decided to do it, that were brave enough,” declared class member Capri Cutchin, with a laugh.
