CENTRAL CITY – A manhunt in Central City resulted in the arrest of 4 men, following a pursuit and crash on Highway 30.
The Central City Police Department says a report came in a of a reckless driver on highway 30, entering Central City westbound. Police located the vehicle and attempted to perform a traffic stop at Pump & Pantry, when the vehicle sped up back into town on Highway 30.
The 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis attempted to make a turn at F road when it struck a utility pole. The 4 occupants attempted to flee on foot when one of the occupants was caught and arrested. Two other occupants were located approximately a half hour later, while the driver was located one and half hours after the pursuit in southwest Central City.
Central City Police, the Merrick County Sheriff’s Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and K-( units all helped in the incident.
Christopher Sanchez, the driver, was arrested on 6 charges including felony flight, possession of a stolen vehicle, criminal mischief, obstruction, reckless driving, and driving under revocation. Rigo Estrada, Christian Martin-Alvarez, and Mario Castro Villagomez all face obstruction charges.
