Former Four-Term Gage County Official, Passes Away

BEATRICE – A former Beatrice woman who served four terms as Gage County’s Register of Deeds, has passed away.

Lodeen Clausen of Louisville, Kentucky died November 8th, at the age of 91.  Claussen served as President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer of the Nebraska Association of Clerks, Registers of Deeds and County Election Commissioners.

Claussen served as an ambassador and Chairperson of the Beatrice Chamber of Commerce, being named a lifetime honorary member in 2007.  She won awards for her political contributions and ambassador activities.

Clausen was appointed by former Governor Ben Nelson to the 5th District Judicial Nominating Commission, where she served two terms.

Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice says a memorial graveside service will be held, November 30th, at 3 p.m., at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice.
