Flood Warning Issued for Butler, Platte Counties

COLUMBUS – The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Platte and Butler Counties until 5:30 am Saturday.

Northwestern Butler County in east central Nebraska…

* Until 530 AM CDT

* At 1131 PM CDT, emergency management reported flooding from Clear
Creek on E Road north of Road 44, in the vicinity of the
Brandenburg Lake cabins. Part of E Road are water-covered.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern
Platte and northwestern Butler Counties, mainly along Clear Creek.
Clear Creek is expected to run high most of early Saturday morning
as rainfall from recent showers and thunderstorms slowly works
toward the Platte.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
