Felony Shoplifting Arrest, at Beatrice Walmart Store

BEATRICE –  Beatrice Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of felony shoplifting from the Beatrice Walmart Store.

Bond is set at $3,000 for 24-year-old Alexandra Saul, and she is scheduled to appear in Gage County Court, October 21st.

Police were sent to investigate a female allegedly going through the store’s self-checkout area, scanning some items, but not scanning or paying for other items.

When police arrived, they say the woman was not cooperative, and a man then came into the store, grabbed bags of items including those not paid for, and walked out of the store.

Authorities say security video from Walmart shows eight items were scanned, but there were more than twenty items in the suspect’s shopping cart.  Authorities say the total value of the items was less than $100.

According to a court affidavit, Saul has two prior theft convictions……one for shoplifting in December of last year, and one for theft, last January.
