Falls City Elementary Principal Resigning for Similar Post at Northwest Missouri High School

FALLS CITY – Falls City North Elementary School Principal Shawn Emerson will be resigning at the end of the school year to take a new job.

Emerson will leave his post at the end of May to take the job as principal of Nodaway-Holt High School in Graham, Missouri.

Emerson, who is from the Kansas City area, worked in northwest Missouri for 11 years before taking over as Falls City elementary principal for the last three years.

He says his new opportunity will give him the chance to rekindle his old relationships with former colleagues.

“I get a chance to work with a lot of the peers that I worked with before, a lot of the teachers and administrators, my network that when I came over here that I got away from,” says Emerson.

He says that it will be an adjustment moving from younger to older kids, as he has grown accustomed to frequently greeting and interacting with the kids at North school.

“I try to see the kids every morning when they come to school, be the first one they see  and I try to be the last they see as they leave and that’s going to be the toughest thing for me is the relationship I built with kids,” says Emerson.
