FAIRBURY – The Homestead Land Company in Fairbury is collecting new, un-opened hygiene products & other items for local people in need.
In collaboration with Blue Valley Community Action Partnership, donations will be collected at the Homestead Land office in Fairbury through the month of October.
Needed items include lip balm, hand sanitizer, deodorant, tissues, cleaning supplies, tooth brushes, nail clippers, feminine products, gloves, scarves, hats socks and more.
Donated goods will be delivered to Blue Valley Community Action Partnership for distribution. Charity organizer April Stone says it was important for her to give back to her community.
“I was just thinking of what we could do to give back,” Stone said. “Kind of promote some togetherness in the community, bring everyone together toward a common goal. I know a few people who work over there (Blue Valley), and I thought this would be a good opportunity.”
Blue Valley Community Action Partnership is a non-profit that works to end poverty with offices all across eastern Nebraska.
