FAIRBURY – 100,000 older adults participated in activities at more than 1,000 locations throughout the U.S. on Wednesday as they celebrated National Senior Health & Fitness Day. Jefferson Community Health and Life in Fairbury was one of those locations as they held activities in their conference room. One of the organizers of the event LPN, Pauline Niederklien says that staying fit as an older adult is very important.
The common goal for this day is to help keep older Americans healthy and fit. Craig Bontrager, director of JCH&L Burkley Fitness Center says there are many ways older adults can stay active.
Niderklien says staying fit can not only help your physical well being but also mentally as well.
