Fairbury School Board Approves Architect for Facility Improvement Projects

FAIRBURY – The Fairbury School Board approved the hiring of an architect for the facility improvement projects during their November meeting.

Jon Carlson of Carlson West Povandra Architects was approved unanimously Monday night. Superintendent Stephan Grizzle said he felt very comfortable with the contract and the company.

Fairbury Teammates Coordinator Patty Swartz presented the board with a report on the Fairbury Teammates chapter and said the chapter is growing and is in need of mentors.

Swartz said three mentors will be graduating this year and will receive some kind of assistance for secondary education provided they complete the necessary paperwork.

Also at the meeting the board approved the sale of 250 Samsung Chromebooks at a cost of $50 each. The board also discussed several activities planned in the future, including Soup It Up For Kids and the annual PTA fundraiser.

The next board meeting will be held Dec. 12.
