Fairbury Police Arrest Two Following Assault

FAIRBURY – Fairbury Police arrested two people in connection with an alleged assault Friday night.

Police said 20-year-old Trenton Slama of Fairbury was taken into custody Friday on charges of felony 1st Degree Assault and Terroristic Threats.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block block of 5th Street just before 9 p.m. after receiving a call that a woman had been severely assaulted. When officers arrived, they saw a man who they identified as Slama standing in the front yard of the residence and detained him until they could determine what happened.

Police say Slama got into an argument with a woman and it became physical. Officers say Slama caused severe facial injuries to the woman, who was taken to Jefferson Community Health and Life for treatment and later transported to a Lincoln hospital for surgery.

During the investigation, officers also discovered multiple items that were stolen in a Fairbury burglary and arrested 19-year-old Allison Disney on a felony charge of theft by receiving stolen property. They also added a felony burglary charge for Slama.

Slama and Disney were taken to the Jefferson County Detention Center. Police say the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
