Fairbury man dead after house fire Tuesday night

FAIRBURY – A Fairbury man is dead after a house fire on Tuesday night.

Homeowner and 67-year-old Gary Nolte was transported to Jefferson Community Health and Life late Tuesday where he was pronounced dead.

Nebraska State Fire Marshal investigators determined the cause of the fire was accidental, and started by a burning candle.

The Fairbury Rural Fire Department responded to an alarm at 1224 3rd Street in Fairbury around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation by the State Fire Marshal Agency has been completed.
