Early Voting Remains Popular

BEATRICE – The Gage County Clerk and Election Commissioner says voters have already requested over 2,500 early ballots, for this November election.

Dawn Hill says some of the ballots are already coming back in.

That is before the second of three Presidential Election debates, which his coming up this Sunday.   As of Wednesday morning, 2,250 early ballots had been sent out by the Gage County Clerk’s office, and 302 had been returned.

Hill says early voting continues to grow, in popularity, and her office continues to get positive feedback about that voting option.

Hill says a drop box the county established a few years ago, at a parking lot east of the county courthouse, remains a favorite of voters.

Voter Registration Deadline is October 21, – By Mail or DMV

October 28th is the deadline in person at Clerk’s Office.  The office is open until 6 p.m.

For Early or absentee ballots, the deadline for a request by mail, is 6:00p.m. on Friday, October 28th

To vote in person (clerk’s office) – the deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7th.  Also, to request by agent – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8th

All Ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office by 8 p.m., on Election Day, November 8th.

If a voter has moved &/or married and have changed their name, they need to come to the clerk’s office and update their record by the registration deadline.
