Early Thursday Morning Fatality Accident

BEATRICE – Three sources have reported a fatality accident in western Gage County that happened at about 12:45 Thursday morning.

Gage County Sheriff Millard Gustafson says the fatality victim was the driver of the vehicle that rolled over.  He is identified as 44-year-old Paul Baehr, of DeWitt.

His vehicle was eastbound near West Elm and North Blue Ridge Drive, when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.  Baehr was ejected from the vehicle and authorities say it rolled over him.  Gustafson says Baehr died at the scene.

The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and sheriff’s investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The accident happened near the west border of Gage County.   Gage County and Saline County Sheriff’s Officers responded to the scene, along with the Nebraska State Patrol, Beatrice Rural Fire, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and DeWitt Fire and Rescue.
