Captain Jeremy Seggerman says the area on fire was about 75-feet long, and about five feet high.   Spontaneous combustion is the likely cause of the flare-up.

One of the department’s smaller trucks worked around a fence to get into the site of the fire.  The lock was cut on the gate shortly after, to allow other fire vehicles to reach the scene.

Seggerman says fire personnel occasionally get called out to the waste area.
