BEATRICE – A preliminary hearing is scheduled for a 21-year-old Beatrice man, arrested on suspicion of drug possession, after an employee of a local convenience store found a package the suspect had inadvertently dropped, after leaving the store.
Drew Hausman was arrested by police on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.
According to Gage County Court documents, Hausman had walked into a convenience store, made a purchase and then walked out of the business, when an object fell out of his pocket. An employee found it, and turned in over to a manager. Hausman allegedly returned a short time later, asking if anyone had found a package with what he said contained Tylenol.
Police officers say the object dropped was a plastic bag with three smaller bags inside, containing several pills of different colors. State lab tests indicated it was methamphetamine.
An appearance bond has been set for Hausman, at $5,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 6th.
