Omaha, NE.—In an exclusive July interview with News Channel Nebraska, Jane Kleeb—the head of the Nebraska Democratic Party—admitted when it comes to the governor’s race money is a problem: Gov. Pete Ricketts’ money.

News Channel Nebraska: Have you run into Democrats who decided they didn’t want to get into the governor’s race because of Pete Ricketts’ money?

Jane Kleeb: Pete Ricketts’ money is a serious problem, not only for the topk of the ticket but below as well.

Five months later Ricketts’ deep pockets remain a serious problem. So much so that not a single-elected Democrat in the state has stepped up to challenge the multi-millionaire incumbent.  Only political unknowns Tyler Davis and Vanessa Ward say they’re running.
