Daykin man arrested for domestic assault, according to Jefferson County law enforcement

DAYKIN, NE – A Daykin man was arrested for assault, among other charges, on New Years Day, according to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday afternoon.

Jefferson County authorities received a report of a woman who was assaulted around 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 1.

A Deputy from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded and observed that the female had an ice pack on her eye.

She told authorities that the suspect, 47-year-old Christopher Drees of Daykin, had started to argue and that Drees struck her in the face.

The victim sustained injuries to her face and had a tooth knocked out.

Drees was arrested for domestic assault, terroristic threats and possession of a controlled substance.

Drees remains in the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000 bond.
